Man detained for quarreling with doctor in Syrdarya (video)

In Syrdarya region, a man who quarreled with a doctor examining his wife was sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention, the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.

According to authorities, at 00:25 on 9 November, the Mirzaobod District Internal Affairs Department received a report via the “102” emergency service that relatives of a patient were causing a disturbance at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in the district.

When preventive inspectors arrived at the scene, it was found that the patient, D.Kh., had been brought to the hospital by his spouse, S.Kh., and their son, A.Kh. During the examination, attending doctor R.B. assisted the patient, holding her hand and applying gentle pressure to her abdominal area to check for pain. The patient’s spouse, reportedly out of jealousy, became involved in a dispute with the doctor.

Preliminary medical examinations confirmed that Dr. R.B. had no injuries or marks.

Following an investigation, the Mirzaobod District Court reviewed the case and found that S.Kh. had violated Article 183 (petty hooliganism) and Article 197-7 (obstructing lawful medical activity) of the Code of Administrative Liability of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The court sentenced him to 15 days of administrative detention.

It is worth noting that previously in Tashkent, a doctor was detained after physically assaulting a patient.
