On June 17, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier adopted a joint statement following their talks, confirming their intention to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation. The press service of the Uzbek leader reported this.
The heads of state also warmly welcomed representatives of leading German companies implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan and planning to launch new ones.

A ceremony was also held to exchange bilateral documents. Agreements in the field of financial cooperation were signed, providing for the allocation of grant funds and preferential financing for the implementation of projects aimed at sustainable urban development in Uzbekistan.

In the presence of the leaders of the two countries, a number of joint investment and educational projects were launched. These include projects to organize large-unit assembly of Volkswagen cars in Tashkent, establish a logistics center in Andijan region, produce liquid household detergents, train specialists for the railway sector and open modern examination centers.

According to the report, the implementation of these initiatives will help expand industrial cooperation, develop infrastructure, create new jobs and further strengthen the partnership between Uzbekistan and Germany.
Earlier, it was reported that talks between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Frank-Walter Steinmeier were held at the Kuksaroy residence, both in a narrow format and with the participation of official delegations.
