A 55-year-old woman in the Qoshrobod district of Samarkand region was sentenced to 12 years in prison for murdering her husband, who had become addicted to alcohol. This was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.
According to the investigation, the husband drank constantly, did not work, and did not contribute to the household. This led to frequent quarrels between the couple. On the day of the incident, the woman returned home to find her husband having a party with his acquaintances. She threw them out and argued with her husband. During the quarrel, she stabbed him in the chest and leg.
The man died from his injuries. In an attempt to cover up the crime, the woman changed his blood-stained clothes and claimed that he had died of natural causes. However, law enforcement officers found signs of violence on the body during the examination. A forensic medical examination also contradicted her statement about natural death. It was revealed that the woman was a medical professional with higher education.
During the trial, the prosecutor requested a 13-year prison sentence. Ultimately, the Qoshrobod District Court for Criminal Cases found the woman guilty under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (intentional murder) and sentenced her to 12 years in prison.
It should be noted that earlier, a man was detained in the Tashkent region on suspicion of killing his wife.
