On July 8, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov held meetings with the Georgian leadership in Tbilisi, as he reported on his official social media pages.
During his visit, Saidov met with Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, conveying warm greetings and best wishes from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

“We highly appreciate the Georgian side's strong commitment to realizing the full potential of bilateral relations. During our discussions, we reaffirmed that cooperation between our countries in the political, economic, and cultural spheres is progressing steadily and dynamically,” Saidov stated.
The Foreign Ministries of both nations agreed to mobilize all available resources to sustain this positive momentum and achieve more tangible outcomes for the benefit of both peoples.

“Our upcoming agenda is filled with specific goals and reflects promising prospects. In the years ahead, we will further enhance this positive dynamic,” Saidov added.
The Uzbek Foreign Minister also met with his Georgian counterpart, Maka Bochorishvili. Their talks focused on bilateral cooperation, regional and global developments, and the identification of new priority goals.
He emphasized that the foreign policy departments of both countries are tasked with supporting and advancing high-potential areas of cooperation. The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between business communities, expanding tourism exchanges, and deepening people-to-people relations.

At the conclusion of the talks, the two Foreign Ministries signed a Cooperation Program for 2025–2026.

Saidov also held a meeting with Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament. It was noted that interparliamentary cooperation plays a key role in strengthening bilateral relations. The two sides underscored the importance of expanding cultural exchanges, organizing mutual cultural days, and promoting knowledge and experience sharing between the two nations.
It should be recalled that on March 4 of this year, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze paid an official visit to Tashkent. During the visit, he, along with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, visited the "New Uzbekistan" park and laid flowers at the Independence Monument. Meetings were also held in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 5. On the same day, a high-level government delegation meeting, led by the Prime Ministers of both countries, took place. Following the conclusion of the talks, Prime Minister Kobakhidze’s two-day official visit to Uzbekistan came to an end. He was seen off at Tashkent International Airport by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other senior officials.
