Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, attended the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility on June 4. She announced this on her Telegram channel.
“It was a great honor for me to read out the President’s congratulatory message to the participants of the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility, which began its work in Samarkand. The forum provided an opportunity to discuss one of the most pressing issues for Central Asia and the world today — climate challenges. It also once again demonstrated Uzbekistan’s growing role on the global environmental agenda,” Mirziyoyeva said.

According to her, the Eco Expo Central Asia 2026 exhibition was organized as part of the Assembly. During the event, agreements were signed to attract $80 million in grants and more than $520 million in investments for green projects. Mirziyoyeva said the main task now is to consistently put these environmental initiatives into practice. More than 8,500 specialists from 180 countries are currently taking part in the two events.
