Roy Jones, the legendary former world champion in four divisions, recognized his compatriot Terence Crawford as the best boxer in the world at the moment. He mentioned this in an interview with the "All the Smoke Fight" YouTube page.

In his interview, Jones acknowledged Japan's Naoya Inoue but stated that Terence Crawford is currently the strongest boxer.

“Naoya Inoue, even though he's in Japan, is a great boxer. I can't say Naoya is the best right now since we don't see him in the ring very often, but he deserves to be the leader of the P4P rankings. Inoue doesn't have enough competition at his weight class. Naoya is not well known in the US because we don't have any big-name boxers in his weight class. That's why I'd put Terence Crawford in first place in this regard,” says Roy Jones.

It should be noted that Naoya Inoue, the undisputed world champion in four weight categories, will fight against Australian TJ Doheny. The fight will take place on September 3 in Tokyo, Inoue's hometown.

In fact, the World Boxing Association (WBA) ordered Naoya Inoue to make a mandatory defense fight against Uzbekistan's Murodjon Akhmadaliev in the second bantamweight division, but Naoya decided to fight TJ Doheny instead. Akhmadaliev can fight for the WBA belt against the American Ramon Cardenas, who is ranked 2nd in the WBA.

On the other hand, Terence Crawford, who is recognized by Roy Jones, will fight for the WBA championship belt and the vacant interim WBO belt in the first middleweight against Uzbekistan's Isroil Madrimov on August 3.
