Uzbek taxi driver in Russia suspected of raping 16-year-old girl

A 26-year-old Uzbek migrant working as a taxi driver in Russia’s Leningrad region is suspected of raping a 16-year-old girl, according to Gazeta.  

The driver allegedly assaulted the minor inside his car. The victim’s father stated that the incident took place on the afternoon of August 11 near the city of Sertolovo.  

Authorities detained the suspect the following day. It was revealed that he was not registered with the migration service. The man has been placed in a pre-trial detention center, and officials are considering whether to open a criminal case.  

Separately, reports have emerged that an Uzbek male medical worker employed at a polyclinic in Moscow is suspected of committing acts of violence against a 16-year-old girl.
