1330President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
"First of all, I sincerely congratulate you, dear compatriots, on this great holiday—the blessed Eid al-Fitr—and express my highest respect and best wishes to all of you.
During these joyous days, we express immense gratitude to the Almighty for allowing us to observe Ramadan in its entirety and to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with joy and pride alongside our nation.
Indeed, the noble values of Islam, which embody humanity at their core, align harmoniously with the ongoing reforms in New Uzbekistan.
This sacred month, which encourages spiritual purification, patience, gratitude, and generosity, has been observed in accordance with our national traditions and values. We have ensured that all conditions were met for Muslims in our country to safely perform their religious duties.
Notably, this year's observance of Ramadan under the theme ‘Ramadan is a month of generosity, solidarity, and tolerance’ has further strengthened the spirit of peace, friendship, kindness, and goodwill in our society.
During this period, many charitable initiatives were carried out to support low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those in need. Efforts were made to improve homes and neighborhoods, plant trees with the participation of representatives from three generations, and build new parks and pathways. Iftar gatherings held across the country brought together Uzbekistan’s diverse multinational and multi-confessional communities, once again demonstrating that our strength lies in unity and solidarity.
These traditions, which have flourished in recent years, play a vital role in upholding human dignity and bringing our hardworking and noble people together as one united family. We will undoubtedly continue these efforts in the future.
Dear friends,
As you all know, Islam is, above all, a religion that honors humanity, knowledge, science, and enlightenment.
In this regard, Uzbekistan has dedicated great efforts to preserving, studying, and promoting the rich scientific and spiritual heritage of Islamic civilization. New scientific and educational centers, religious institutions, and sacred sites have been established and are operating effectively across the country.
Undoubtedly, these developments are clear evidence of the continuous progress in our religious and educational spheres, alongside all other sectors. I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your contributions to these efforts.
On this blessed day, we also extend our congratulations to our compatriots living abroad, expressing our best wishes to them.
Additionally, we warmly congratulate the Muslim communities in neighboring and distant countries, sending them our sincere greetings and well wishes.
Dear and respected compatriots,
Once again, I sincerely congratulate you all on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. I wish you good health, happiness, and prosperity in your homes.
May all our prayers and good intentions during Ramadan be answered!
May the Almighty protect our beloved homeland and people!
May Eid al-Fitr bring blessings to us all!" the president's message reads.
For reference, tomorrow, March 30, Uzbekistan will celebrate Eid al-Fitr. Those on a six-day workweek will receive two days off, while those on a five-day schedule will have three days off.
It should also be noted that ahead of Eid al-Fitr, President Mirziyoyev signed a decree pardoning 488 individuals who had sincerely repented and committed to rehabilitation. The decree was issued in accordance with Article 109, Clause 23 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
