On January 13, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Special Operations Forces training ground in Tashkent region and observed the active phase of military exercises being conducted by Armed Forces units. The President’s press service reported the visit.

In recent years, on the President’s initiative, extensive modernization efforts have been carried out at all field training grounds, military units, and institutions of the Ministry of Defense, bringing them in line with international standards.

It was noted that the newly established Special Operations Forces training ground, designed with consideration of international experience and modern trends in military training, is a logical continuation of these efforts aimed at improving the effectiveness of special units.
The facilities at the training ground have been equipped with the necessary conditions to enhance the combat skills of personnel, ensure effective training exercises, and strengthen their moral and psychological resilience.

The Head of State familiarized himself with new methods for organizing combat and special training exercises at the site and observed the active phase of drills conducted by Armed Forces units.

During the exercises, the combat capabilities of units from different branches of the armed forces and the level of coordination in their joint operations were demonstrated, along with new digital systems for command, control, and weapons management.
The drills also showcased effective methods of using unmanned aerial vehicles during various combat operations, as well as coordinated actions between artillery, aviation, air defense, and ground forces while carrying out different training and combat tasks.

Special attention was paid to assessing the ability of junior commanders to make independent decisions using modern digital technologies, their command and control skills, and the professional competence of servicemen in effectively deploying modern weapons and equipment on the battlefield under rapidly changing combat conditions.
At the conclusion of the exercises, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief highly assessed the level of preparedness of the units and the degree of coordination achieved in their joint actions.

In a discussion with the Armed Forces command staff, the President emphasized that amid escalating global security threats, further strengthening the Armed Forces’ capabilities, ensuring unity between the people and the army, and fostering patriotism among young people should form the core of ongoing military reforms.

It is worth noting that earlier reports noted Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Chirchik Aviation Repair Plant, where he reviewed the results of large-scale modernization efforts and the operations of the enterprise’s new high-technology units.
