Mirziyoyev sends condolences to India over deadly incident in Kashmir

On April 23, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended his heartfelt condolences to Indian President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in response to the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries. The announcement was made by Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov.

Mirziyoyev conveyed his deep sympathy to the victims' families and the people of India, expressing hopes for the swift recovery of those injured.

On April 22, an armed attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam city left at least 25 tourists dead and more than 20 others wounded. Official sources have yet to confirm the exact number of casualties. The attack occurred in Baisaran Valley, where unknown assailants opened fire on travelers walking along a mountain trail. Local authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist act.
