Mirziyoyev meets with Binali Yıldırım

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on November 12, received the Chair of the Organization of Turkic States’ Council of Elders Binali Yıldırım, who arrived in Uzbekistan to take part in the International Forum on Multimodal Transportation, the presidential press service reported.
At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the Uzbek leader.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, taking into account the Council’s growing role and active engagement in coordinating and advancing multilateral initiatives.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of strategic proposals put forward by Uzbekistan at the summits of the Organization of Turkic States held earlier this year in Budapest and Gabala.
President Mirziyoyev proposed developing a “Roadmap” aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the Council of Elders, as well as advancing joint projects focused on preserving national traditions, spiritual heritage, and cultural unity of Turkic peoples.
For reference, Binali Yıldırım is a Turkish statesman and politician. He served as the leader of the Justice and Development Party from May 22, 2016, to May 21, 2017, and held the post of the last Prime Minister of the Republic of Türkiye from May 22, 2016, to July 9, 2018. He is widely regarded as one of the closest allies of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
