President Mirziyoyev departs for an official visit to Malaysia

Today, February 4, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for an official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, according to the Presidential Press Service.
As part of the visit, high-level negotiations as well as business and cultural events will be held in Kuala Lumpur.
The agenda includes discussions on enhancing Uzbek-Malaysian relations and expanding practical cooperation in trade, investments, innovations, technology, petrochemicals, electronics, green energy, smart agriculture, and tourism. Special attention will also be given to cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
In addition, the leaders will discuss regional cooperation and global political issues.
At the conclusion of the summit, both sides plan to adopt a joint statement and sign several important agreements aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
It should be recalled that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim paid an official visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024, during which he visited Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara.
