Mirziyoyev arrives in Gabala

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived in Azerbaijan today, October 6, for a working visit, the presidential press service reported this.

At Gabala International Airport, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, Head of the Gabala District Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev, and other officials.

According to the visit program, tomorrow, October 7, the head of state will take part in the official events of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States. The meeting, held under the theme ’’Regional peace and security,’’ will focus on further deepening multilateral cooperation in priority areas. At the conclusion of the summit, a number of documents aimed at expanding practical cooperation among member states will be signed.

The 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on November 6, 2024, in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, under the theme ’’Strengthening the Turkic world: Economic integration, sustainable development, digital future, and security for all.’’ The summit was attended by the leaders of the five member states, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the heads of observer states of the OTS. During the meeting, the heads of state discussed further development of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the organization and signed a number of multilateral documents, including the final declaration. Earlier this year, on May 21, an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Hungary. 

It is worth noting that earlier, the press service of the Organization of Turkic States informed QALAMPIR.UZ that the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS would be held on October 6–7 this year in Gabala, Azerbaijan, under the theme ’’Regional peace and security.’’
