Mirziyoyev meets with Emir of Dubai

As part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Emir of Dubai, in Dubai on January 15. The President’s press service reported on the meeting.

The discussions were praised for their effectiveness, with both sides highlighting the elevation of Uzbek-UAE relations to the level of a strategic partnership. The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the ongoing active dialogues and fruitful cooperation in areas such as public administration reform and management personnel training.

The meeting also resulted in an agreement to develop and implement new projects in high technology, digitalization, infrastructure, and other promising sectors. Uzbekistan specifically expressed interest in fostering closer cooperation with the UAE in the field of artificial intelligence.

A key point of discussion was the introduction of Dubai’s advanced urban planning solutions, particularly in the development of modern infrastructure in New Tashkent.

Both parties agreed to continue their active dialogue and to broaden cooperation across all areas of practical partnership.

President Mirziyoyev’s official visit to the UAE began on January 13, when he was warmly welcomed at Abu Dhabi International Airport by Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, and other officials. On the following day, the President delivered a speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week summit. He also met with representatives of the Presidential School in Tashkent, which had recently won the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Award for Sustainable Development in the "Global Secondary Schools" category, and congratulated them on their achievement.

On January 14, President Mirziyoyev engaged in discussions with a delegation of UAE companies, led by Omar bin Sultan Al-Olama, Minister of Artificial Intelligence; Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; and Mohammed Hassan Al-Suwaidi, CEO of ADQ Holding.

Later on January 15, at the Qasr al-Shati residence in Abu Dhabi, President Mirziyoyev held private talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The two leaders signed a declaration establishing a strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
