According to the Presidential decree signed last week, the position of school advisor is being introduced. Today, September 15, during his meeting with teachers and mentors in the Bostanlik district of the Tashkent region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the responsibilities of this newly established role.

It was noted that school advisors will select students from the 7th grade based on their mastery of subjects and vocational interests, and by the time they complete the 9th grade, guide them toward technical colleges.

At the same time, students who enter technical colleges after finishing the 9th grade will have the opportunity to return to school. Thus, young people who decide to continue their studies in technical colleges instead of moving on to the 10th grade will be able to pursue their education there.

In addition, this year, 200,000 students who graduated from the 11th grade but did not gain admission to universities will receive vocational training in technical colleges through short-term programs lasting 3–6 months.

’’What is the purpose of our new initiatives? If every child earns through vocational skills, the livelihoods of all families will improve, and peace will prevail in neighborhoods,’’ the President said.

The Head of State also proposed new initiatives to enhance the qualifications and social standing of teachers and masters in technical colleges. In particular, a vocational certification system will be introduced for teachers and masters in technical colleges, similar to that in schools. Under this system, technical college instructors will receive a bonus of 30 percent of their salary for a national certificate and 50 percent for an international certificate.

At the same time, the salaries of technical college directors and deputy directors will be on par with their school counterparts. If they obtain a management certificate from the ’’School of Directors,’’ an additional 20 percent bonus will be awarded.

Henceforth, technical colleges will also implement allowances for academic degrees and titles, similar to universities. Each year, 500 teachers will be sent for internships at leading foreign educational institutions, and another 500 masters will undergo internships at major enterprises abroad.
