On February 26, social media reports claimed that an Uzbek man had stabbed two people at the Vyshinsky Hotel in Šiauliai, Lithuania. In response, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Lithuania issued an official statement addressing the allegations.

According to the embassy, after coordinating with Lithuanian authorities, it was confirmed that no such incident involving Uzbek citizens took place at the Vyshinsky Hotel in Šiauliai.

"Dear media representatives and compatriots, we ask you not to spread unconfirmed information on open Internet networks," the embassy stated.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, a 15-year-old Uzbek teenager in St. Petersburg, Russia, stabbed a 42-year-old compatriot following a domestic dispute involving the victim’s stepson.
