Criminal case opened into the death of a 2.5-year-old girl at a kindergarten in Koson

It was earlier reported that a child attending a preschool educational institution in the Koson district of the Kashkadarya region had died. A criminal case has now been opened in connection with the incident. This was confirmed by Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the report, the incident occurred on June 20, 2025, at a private kindergarten. It was stated that the 2.5-year-old girl had been left without proper supervision during naptime.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 116 of the Criminal Code (Failure to Perform Professional Duties).

Shamsutdinov noted that once all necessary investigative procedures have been completed, a legal decision will be made regarding the case.

It is worth recalling that on March 28 of this year, a child identified as Sh. Sh was born in 2023, died from an electric shock due to negligence by a teacher at a preschool educational institution operated by an individual entrepreneur, X.O., in the Bukhara district of the Bukhara region.
