A video circulating on social media shows Umidjon Adizov, the governor of Khatirchi district in Uzbekistan’s Navoi region, welcoming members of the Bukhara Jewish community living abroad and hosting them at a dinner. The district administration’s press service has issued a response to the footage.

According to the official statement, the guests—Jews who currently reside in Israel and other countries—visited the Khatirchi district to explore the historical and cultural heritage of the land where they and their ancestors once lived. The visit also included stops at ancestral shrines and aimed to strengthen friendly ties with Uzbekistan.

“The district governor’s warm welcome to these guests is a clear reflection of the hospitality and tolerance that define our people,” the statement said.

In the video shared online, Governor Adizov can be seen repeatedly expressing that the doors of Khatirchi are always open to them and that they are highly valued. He also stated that the district is ready to offer broad opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as tourism and the economy.

It should be recalled that earlier, amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, Israeli citizens in Uzbekistan were urged to take security precautions. These included avoiding the display of Jewish or Israeli symbols in public, refraining from posting personal travel or location details online, steering clear of public events related to Israel or Judaism, and maintaining close cooperation with local security services. Israelis were also advised to remain vigilant in public areas and follow all security instructions in case of emergency.
