According to the report, the killing took place in May this year in the village of Jibek Joly. Court documents state that the 39-year-old Uzbek citizen struck the woman with an axe, tied her up, and, after she lost consciousness, slit her throat. He then mutilated her body, severing her hands and genitals. The man was tried under the article on ’’murder.’’

Forensic examination concluded that the victim’s death was caused by traumatic and hemorrhagic shock resulting from axe and knife wounds to the neck area. The trachea, esophagus, first cervical vertebra, spinal cord, and major blood vessels were severely damaged. It was also determined that the victim’s head had been severed.

In court, the man’s guilt was fully proven. However, a psychiatric examination revealed that he suffered from a chronic mental illness, paranoid schizophrenia, and had been under dispensary supervision for more than six years.

The accused was sent for compulsory treatment to a psychiatric hospital in the village of Oqtosh, Talgar district, Almaty region. The relatives of the deceased, however, disagreed with the court’s ruling and filed an appeal.

It is worth noting that earlier, a 36-year-old Uzbek citizen, Zulaykho E., was fatally stabbed in the throat in Istanbul’s Fatih district, one of the Turkish metropolises with the largest Uzbek population.
