Citizens traveling along the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-Russia route have been urged to strictly comply with border crossing laws, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau warned.

It was noted that recently, there has been an increase in attempts by Uzbek citizens to cross the state border illegally. According to Kazakhstan’s authorized bodies, those individuals have been detained and held criminally liable under Article 392 (Deliberate illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and Article 394 (Organizing illegal migration) of the Criminal Code.

Since September of this year, Kazakhstan has imposed strict penalties for border violations, including long-term imprisonment.

“Dear citizens, illegal crossing of the state border or attempts to do so will lead to criminal liability. We urge you to strictly follow the border crossing procedures and avoid participating in illegal schemes,” the consulate’s statement said.

It is worth noting that earlier, in the Aktobe region, Kazakhstan, a passenger bus carrying 54 Uzbek citizens was involved in a traffic accident.
