The baseline consumption limit for natural gas during the heating season has been extended until March 15 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, the Ministry of Energy reported.
According to Uzgidromet, colder-than-usual temperatures are expected during the first 15 days of March in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm. To support residents, and pursuant to a presidential directive, the Cabinet of Ministers has extended the 500 cubic meter baseline consumption limit for the heating season in these two regions until March 15, 2026.
Earlier, reports circulated claiming that natural gas prices would increase starting on March 1. However, the Ministry of Energy denied these claims, stating that gas tariffs had not been raised.
During the heating season, the baseline limit for natural gas consumption was increased fivefold — from 100 cubic meters to 500 cubic meters. Specifically, a monthly baseline of up to 500 cubic meters is set for November through February, while from March through October the monthly baseline is set at up to 100 cubic meters.
