Court jails man for stealing Isroilov’s son’s car in Tashkent

A man who stole the car belonging to Uzbek comedian Shukurullo Isroilov’s son in Mirzo Ulugbek district, Tashkent, has been sentenced to two years in prison, according to Millar.
The case was reviewed at the Mirzo Ulugbek District Criminal Court, where it was revealed that the suspect had taken advantage of the vehicle being left unlocked and drove it away. Once Isroilov noticed the theft, he immediately reported it to law enforcement.
The stolen car was stopped in Uchtepa district on Zargarlik Street, and the suspect, a man born in 1991, was handed over to criminal investigation officers.
Following an investigation, a criminal case was opened under Article 267 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized use of a vehicle), leading to the suspect’s arrest.
During the trial, Isroilov’s son stated that he had no claims against the defendant. However, the court ruled the suspect guilty under Article 267, Part 1, sentencing him to two years in prison, with Article 57 applied for a reduced penalty.
Earlier, in Yashnabad district, Tashkent, individuals who stole a Damas vehicle from a parking lot were sentenced to seven years in prison.
