A resident of Bukhara, who violated the law in Uzbekistan, evaded court proceedings, and fled the country, has been detained in Russia. This was reported by the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
According to official information, the individual, originally from the Karavulbazar district, was charged under Part 3 of Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code. After failing to appear in court, the Karavulbazar District Court for Criminal Cases placed him on the wanted list.
Following an extensive search operation, special officers identified his location and detained him in Russia.
“During the search operation conducted by the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the fugitive’s whereabouts in the Russian Federation were identified, leading to his arrest,” the report states.
It was noted that the individual has since been extradited to Uzbekistan and placed in a pre-trial detention center.
It should be recalled that earlier, Akmal Shukurov, who had assaulted a citizen at a nightclub in Tashkent, leaving him in a coma, was detained in Kazakhstan and extradited to Uzbekistan.
