Citizens wanted through Interpol channels have been returned to Uzbekistan from the United Arab Emirates. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
According to the ministry, as a result of cooperation between the Interpol National Central Bureaus of Tashkent and Abu Dhabi, two citizens accused of committing serious crimes and placed on the international wanted list were extradited to Uzbekistan.
The individuals were wanted by Uzbek law enforcement agencies on charges of committing economic and property crimes in the country.
“They will now be brought before the court to face criminal liability,” the ministry said in its report.
It is worth noting that earlier, several individuals wanted on charges of fraud were detained and deported to Uzbekistan in joint operations conducted by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Uzbekistan.
