A video showing a confrontation between law enforcement officers and a citizen has been circulating on social media, sparking widespread discussion. According to the footage obtained by QALAMPIR.UZ, officers allegedly attempted to place a 20-year-old man in the trunk of a car. The Tashkent city main department of Internal Affairs has issued a statement regarding the incident.
It is reported that on August 16, around 21:40, in the Qoraqamish 1/3 area of Olmazor district, patrol officers Sh. Qurbanov and A. Mamadaliev, who were on night duty, spotted several suspicious individuals. Three citizens were standing by the roadside, removing tinted film from the windows of a Malibu car. The officers asked them to identify the vehicle’s owner and to present the car documents.
According to the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs, U.M., born in 2005, refused to comply with the lawful orders of the officers. He locked the doors of the car, did not present any documents, actively resisted, and attempted to flee the scene. After being detained, U.M. was placed in the car’s cabin and taken to the district's Internal Affairs Department.
During the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle belonged to U.M.’s older brother, R.M.
The Olmazor district Internal Affairs department drew up an administrative report against U.M. under Article 194 (failure to comply with lawful orders of a police officer) and Article 195 (resistance to police officers performing their duties) of the Code of administrative liability. The collected documents have been forwarded to the district criminal court for legal proceedings.
It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier in Samarkand region, involving law enforcement officers and children aged 15 and 10. The confrontation took place when officers were posting a wanted notice, and the children allegedly tore down the notices and interfered with the officers.
