Those responsible for the death of a 14-year-old boy in Fergana admitted their guilt - Ombudsman

On 18 November, Aliya Yunusova, the representative of the Supreme Majlis on Children's Rights, at the Fergana Region Prosecutor's Office, accused two people, A.E, and K.S, of the imprisonment and death of 15-year-old minor, A.R.  This was reported on the website of the Ombudsman.

A.E., who was caught during a conversation with K.S. admitted the charges against them and stated that the torture and mental and physical pressure was not applied to them and they were provided with lawyers.

The children's Ombudsman made recommendations on the protection of children's rights and interests, in dialogue with representatives of law enforcement agencies.

It is noted that the Fergana regional prosecutor's office is currently investigating this case.

According to the information of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, R.A., a minor, was born in 2007 and lived in the village of Sultan, neighborhood "Of Sultan", Uchkoprik district.  On 16 October this year, he was caught by the Department of Internal Affairs officers when he was walking without the supervision of his parents, and attempting to steal in the "Ansar" shopping complex located in the village of Buvayda district, Yangigurgan.   The head of the district Department of Internal Affairs following today's decision, placed him in the Crime Prevention Department of the Public Security Service of the regional IIB located in the city of Ko'kan.

On 17 October, minor R.A. fainted as his health worsened.  The city emergency medical personnel were called, and despite the medical assistance he received, he died while being taken to the hospital.

According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic examination, the cause of the deceased's death was "A closed head injury, hemorrhage under the dura mater, and brain tissue injury."

In connection with this situation, on 18 November 2022, the Koqan City Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Article 104, Part 3, Clause "d" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (inflicting serious bodily injury that caused the death of the victim.)
During the investigation, it became known that 2 minors beat the deceased R. Abdusattarov and inflicted injuries that caused his death.  Therefore, these 2 minors were arrested as part of the criminal case.

In connection with this situation, the former IIB center educator and the duty shift inspector were brought as suspects under Article 207, Part 3 of the Criminal Code (A cold view of the profession) and arrested under the procedure of Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code "prison" precautionary measure was applied to them.
