Starting June 1, urban road repair work and road marking activities will be prohibited between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., except on weekends or in exceptional cases where delays are unnecessary, Sherzod Asadov, the presidential press secretary, announced.

According to the announcement, road repairs and markings will be carried out exclusively at night, when traffic volume is significantly lower.

“This change will ease citizens’ daily commutes to work, school, or hospitals, and help prevent traffic congestion,” Asadov said.

Additionally, beginning September 1, the installation of the “Radar” road sign will become mandatory in areas where stationary and mobile speed control radars operate. The signs must be placed between 250 and 500 meters from the radar locations.

It is worth noting that from June 1, the use of automated photo and video recording equipment to detect violations of road markings will no longer be permitted, except for violations of the “stop line” (road sign 5.33).
