In Uzbekistan, Sundays are no longer counted when calculating payments for annual leave. This change is outlined in the law "On Amendments and Addenda to the Labor Code," which was adopted on February 13.

According to the amendment to Article 233, Sundays are not considered when paying for annual leave. Similarly, the updated Article 234 specifies that Sundays are not included when calculating compensation.

The new amendment also states that the total duration of unpaid leave cannot exceed three months within a 12-month period.

Additionally, one of the parents (or a person acting as a parent) of two or more children under 12, or a disabled child under 16, is entitled to at least 14 calendar days of unpaid annual leave upon request.

The amendments also prohibit individuals under 18 from working on a substitute basis. If the main work of the substitute involves unfavorable working conditions, such employment is also prohibited (except for healthcare workers).

Earlier, it was reported that the amendments to Uzbekistan's Labor Code also included a ban on dismissing employees due to pregnancy or having a child.
