Advocating for a free market, the entrepreneurs urged the head of state to lift restrictions and support an open and competitive environment.
Following this appeal, the Business Ombudsman responded, stating that the office is reviewing the entrepreneurs' request to assess its compliance with legal requirements.
Previously, it was reported that the import of Chinese Leapmotor electric cars into Uzbekistan had been banned due to non-compliance with international standards, particularly safety requirements established by the United Nations. Additionally, a Cabinet of Ministers resolution titled "On Additional Measures to Finance the Organization of Infrastructure for the Disposal of Batteries of Vehicles with Electric Motors" introduced an increase in the disposal fee for electric cars imported from abroad.
