More than 22 kilograms of narcotic substances were seized during a special operation conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) in the Surkhandarya, Fergana, Namangan, and Syrdarya regions.

In particular, a Cobalt vehicle was stopped and inspected in the Denov district of Surkhandarya. During the search, conducted in the presence of witnesses, 9 kilograms of hashish were found in possession of a passenger—a resident of Denov district born in 1987 with a prior conviction. The drugs were seized as material evidence. Preliminary investigations revealed that the hashish had been delivered by Tajik drug couriers for future sale.

In a separate operation in Altynsay district, a local resident born in 1969 and his accomplice, a Denov district resident born in 1986, were caught while attempting to sell 1.96 kilograms of opium—also brought from Tajikistan—to a buyer for 200 million soums.

In the Fergana region, two residents of Fergana city, born in 1994 and 1988, were stopped and searched while driving. Authorities discovered 5.86 kilograms of hashish in their possession. The operation continued, leading to the arrest of another Fergana resident born in 1997, who had come to purchase the hashish from them at a price of 89 million soums per kilogram. The ringleader of this group—who had previously smuggled the drugs from a dealer in Kyrgyzstan’s Kadamjay district—was also detained.

In Namangan, a resident of Fergana district born in 1992, with a criminal record, was arrested while attempting to sell 3.95 kilograms of hashish for \$38,000. His accomplice, born in 2000 and also from Fergana district, was taken into custody. Later, 868 grams of hashish previously smuggled from Kyrgyzstan were found in the 1992-born suspect’s apartment.

In another case in Syrdarya region, two men—one from Fergana region born in 1988, and the other from Andijan region born in 1969, both previously convicted—were detained while trying to sell 943 grams of opium that had been smuggled from Tajikistan through indirect routes.

In total, 22 kilograms and 585 grams of illegal narcotics were seized during these coordinated operations.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against all involved individuals, and preventive detention measures have been applied. Investigations are ongoing.

It should be recalled that earlier, in a joint operation with internal affairs bodies in the Tashkent region, the circulation of synthetic narcotics imported from Kazakhstan was also prevented.
