A man who was cutting and attempting to transport saxaul was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest in the Bukhara region. According to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the offender resisted inspectors, refused to comply with their lawful demands, and attempted to flee.

It was reported that employees of the Shafirkon district branch of the regional Department of Ecology conducted another inspection raid. During the raid, a Ford vehicle was stopped while illegally transporting saxaul plants cut in the desert area of the district. The inspection revealed that three individuals inside the car had unlawfully broken and collected saxaul.

Although the district Ecology Department officers demanded that the vehicle be taken to the impound lot in accordance with the law, the offenders disobeyed, attempted to flee the scene, and actively resisted the inspectors. Following the incident, the regional Department of Ecology sent an official notice to the Shafirkon district Internal Affairs department requesting legal action.

This offense was reviewed by the Shafirkon district Criminal Court, and citizen A.S. was sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention for disobeying inspectors’ lawful demands, resisting them, and attempting to flee.

In addition, each of the other two citizens was fined 25 times the base calculation rate, 10.3 million soums. It was also determined that their actions caused a total of 32.3 million soums of damage to nature.

Moreover, the court imposed a fine of 5 times the base calculation rate (2.06 million soums) on each of the three violators who broke the saxaul, as well as on another individual involved in the incident, for failing to comply with lawful orders.

It is worth noting that earlier, the inspectors pursuing citizens who were illegally cutting down saxaul were injured in the Khorezm region. In addition, the offenders beat two employees of the Bukhara regional ecology department on the face and all parts of the body, causing various serious injuries (N. Mukhammadiev’s leg was broken). Then, while transporting them on the bed of a truck, the inspectors managed to escape by jumping off the rear side of the moving vehicle.
