13979Today, April 6, Uzbekistan’s U-17 national football team will face China in the second round of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, currently being held in Saudi Arabia.
In Group A, Uzbekistan began the tournament with an impressive 4-1 victory over Thailand in the first round. Meanwhile, China suffered a 2-1 defeat against the host nation, Saudi Arabia.
It is worth noting that if Islom Ismoilov’s team secures a win in this second-round match, they will guarantee their qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
This continental championship is particularly significant as it serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be held later this year in Qatar. All teams that advance to the quarterfinals will earn a spot in the global tournament, meaning that finishing first or second in the group ensures World Cup qualification.
The match is scheduled to kick off today at 8:00 PM Tashkent time.
