Asadkhodja Muydinkhodjaev becomes two-time world champion

Paris Olympics champion Asadkhodja Muydinkhodjaev has become a two-time world champion, the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.

In the final of the World Boxing Championship, currently being held in Liverpool, England, Asadkhodja Muydinkhodjaev (-65 kg), the Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist, was the first to enter the ring.

Facing Brazilian Yuri Falcao dos Reis, Muydinkhodjaev secured victory and claimed the world champion title for the second time in his career.

For reference, Muydinkhodjaev is a member of Uzbekistan’s national boxing team in the up-to-71 kg weight category. In the final of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, he defeated Mexican boxer Marco Alonso Verde Alvarez to win Olympic gold.

In addition, Uzbek boxer Jawohir Ummataliev, competing in the -80 kg division, defeated Frenchman Jogerlin Cesar in three rounds (5:0) to become world champion.

Another Uzbek athlete, Turabek Habibullaev, triumphed over Brazilian Isaias Ribeiro on points (5:0) in the -90 kg final, bringing another gold medal to Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that earlier, Paris Olympic champion Asadkhodja Muydinkhodjaev was seen driving a Tahoe through the streets of Tashkent at a speed of 110 km/h.
