A person who promised to send people to work in Latvia has been detained in the city of Angren, Tashkent region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the report, during an operation conducted jointly with the Angren City Department and officers of the State Security Service, citizen B.N. gained the trust of three individuals and promised to obtain work visas for them to travel to Latvia through his acquaintances for 8,250 US dollars. He was detained with material evidence while receiving 2,100 US dollars in advance.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 (fraud) and 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigative actions are currently underway.
It should be noted that earlier in Tashkent, individuals who promised to send citizens to work in Germany were detained. They had signed fake contracts with nine individuals and fraudulently obtained a total of \$12,500 and 73.2 million soums.
