On July 29, reports circulated on social media showing black oil leaking into a canal flowing from the village of Raish in the Bulokbashi district of the Andijan region. In response, the Andijan Regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change launched an investigation into the incident.

According to officials, the investigation is being conducted jointly with relevant agencies. It was determined that the leak resulted from an accident involving oil processing at Sanoat Energetik Grupi LLC. Authorities confirmed that the situation has been fully resolved. Official documents have been submitted to the company to initiate further inquiry into the matter.

The department added that once the investigation is complete, detailed information will be provided regarding the extent of the environmental damage and the measures planned to mitigate its impact.

As a reminder, a similar incident occurred earlier during drilling operations at the Muynak field, located in the Uchsoy OFY area of the Muynak district in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Gas was released from a depth of 4,707 meters at well No. 1, which was originally designed for drilling down to 5,000 meters.
