Abdusattorov wins Tata Steel Chess tournament

On February 1, the traditional Tata Steel Chess tournament, hosted in the Dutch city of Wijk aan Zee, came to an end. According to the final results, Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov claimed the tournament’s top prize.
Abdusattorov scored nine points out of a possible 13, finishing the tournament as the sole leader and securing the championship title.
Following his successful performance at this prestigious event, he also returned to the world online rankings as one of the top five strongest chess players globally.
Another Uzbek grandmaster, Javokhir Sindarov, also delivered a strong performance at the tournament, finishing in second place.
For reference, Nodirbek Abdusattorov has recorded high results at this tournament in previous years as well, placing second in 2023 and third in both 2024 and 2025.
