On December 18, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, held a telephone conversation with Odilbek Kasimalayev, the newly appointed Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Head of the Presidential Administration. This was reported by the Prime Minister's press secretary, Bekzod Hidoyatov.
At the outset of the conversation, Abdulla Aripov congratulated Odilbek Kasimalayev on his confirmation as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.
The discussion also emphasized the importance of close collaboration in addressing the key tasks set by the leaders of both countries. Confidence was expressed in the consistent implementation of agreements in various sectors, including trade, economic relations, transport logistics, energy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, and cultural-humanitarian initiatives.
It was noted that Prime Minister Aripov had previously sent a congratulatory letter to his Kyrgyz counterpart on his appointment to this role.
For context, the former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akhilbek Japarov, stepped down on December 16 after serving in the position for three years and two months. Odilbek Kasimalayev has since been appointed to replace him. Earlier today, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh (Supreme Council) of the Kyrgyz Republic, President Sadir Japarov explained the reasons behind Akhilbek Japarov’s dismissal.
