Istanbul’s Basaksehir football club, which recently signed Eldor Shomurodov, is reportedly close to bringing in another Uzbek player, midfielder Abbosbek Fayzullayev from Russia’s CSKA Moscow. This was reported by Turkish journalist Usman Altunterim.

According to the source, significant progress has been made in the negotiations over Fayzullayev's potential transfer to Basaksehir. The player himself is said to be interested in joining the Istanbul club. There is reportedly no major difference between the two clubs regarding the transfer fee, which increases the likelihood of a successful deal.

For context, Fayzullayev's contract with CSKA expires next summer. The 21-year-old midfielder appeared in 39 matches this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 7 assists. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is estimated at €8 million.

As previously reported, 29-year-old Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov has moved from the Italian club Roma to Basaksehir. The Istanbul side has secured the forward on loan until the end of the 2025–2026 season, with an option to buy.
