Abdumannon Buriev appointed as Business Ombudsman

Abdumannon Abdurakhmatovich Buriev has been appointed as the Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities (Business Ombudsman).

For reference, Abdumannon Buriev was born in 1986 in the city of Bekobod, Tashkent region. Prior to his appointment to the new position, Buriev worked in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, where he was a member of the committee responsible for anti-corruption efforts and judicial and legal system issues, and represented the UzLiDeP party. He has also headed the Justice Department of Fergana region and served in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Justice as head of the Department for Organizational Control and Strategic Planning.

In his new role, Buriev’s primary responsibility will be to protect the interests of private businesses. He will oversee the prevention of unlawful interference by state bodies in entrepreneurial activities, as well as monitor the proper and lawful enforcement of legislation regulating the business sector.
