Jahongir Poziljonov named Honored Artist of Uzbekistan

Singer of the Uzbek Concert State Institution Jahongir Poziljonov has been awarded the honorary title of “Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan.” A corresponding decree was signed today, August 23, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the decree, Poziljonov was recognized for his significant contribution to reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s independence and building a New Uzbekistan, as well as for his exceptional artistic talent.
Jahongir Poziljonov was born on March 4, 1978, in Tashkent to a family of cooks. He is known for songs such as “Ey, sanam,” “Yig'lama muhabbat,” and “Faqat farzandlarim yig'lamta hayot,” as well as for roles in films including “Boyvachcha,” “Achchiq hayot,” and “Shomurod va Durdona.” In 2009, while traveling back from a concert in Termez with the “Bojalar” group, the singer was involved in a car accident that claimed the life of Momin Oripov. Poziljonov was critically injured, hospitalized, and spent several days in a coma.
In 2014, his song “To'ylar Muborak” won the “Song of the Year – 2014” award.
It is worth noting that earlier, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov was awarded the title of “Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
