Individual detained for illegal medicine trade in Tashkent

A person involved in the illegal trade of medicines was detained in the Tashkent region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
During an operation conducted on the "Ahangaron-Namangan" highway, M.N. was apprehended while attempting to sell 10,255 boxes of medicines of 8 different types for $19,000 to citizen I.Ya. The medicines, which were manufactured abroad, were being sold without any documents confirming their quality.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code (production, preparation, acquisition, storage, transportation, or transfer of low-quality or counterfeit medicines or medical devices for the purpose of transfer). Investigative actions are currently underway.
It should be noted that similar cases of illegal drug trade were recently reported in the Fergana region and the city of Tashkent.
