Earlier, it was reported that 37 children from four preschool educational institutions in the Forish district of Jizzakh region suffered from mass food poisoning. Currently, six of them remain in hospital, according to the regional Department of Preschool and School Education.

The department noted that 37 children who sought medical help from several preschools in the region were provided with outpatient care, while six are still receiving inpatient treatment.

“The situation is being monitored by a working group consisting of specialists from the Jizzakh regional Department of Preschool and School Education, the regional Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health, and law enforcement agencies,” the statement said.

It added that detailed information about the situation will be provided soon.

It is worth noting that the affected children had complained of fever, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weakness. An epidemiological investigation revealed that on October 8, the children had consumed products such as biokefir, cheese, and butter at their preschools. Based on the anamnesis and initial examinations, they were diagnosed with “acute diarrhea” and received inpatient medical care.
