Yesterday, June 17, videos were posted on social networks showing a group of girls in their wedding dresses holding up signs reading "I need a husband" in the Jizzakh region. The regional Department of Family and Women's Affairs responded to this incident.
It turned out that in the "Khalqobod" mahalla citizens' meeting area of Jizzakh city, eight girls were walking down the street in their wedding dresses in front of the Old Town Dehkan Market, holding signs reading "I need a husband." It was discovered that this was organized by the salon manager Sh.A. and social network user Sh.E. in order to advertise a salon in the area, and they were planning to make an advertising video.
The head of the Department of Family and Women's Affairs immediately stopped the process and explained to the girls and the management of the beauty salon that they should follow the rules of conduct in society and respect national values.
“In this regard, it would be appropriate to pay special attention to the fact that in such cases the attention of the public is also important, and that such seemingly insignificant cases contradict the honor of the nation and national values,” the report says.
It should be recalled that in 2023, Maryam Tillyaeva, the blogger granddaughter of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, also walked the streets of the city holding a sign with the inscription “I am looking for a husband.” Last year, a girl born in 2007 in the Namangan region walked the streets of the city holding a sign with the inscription “I need a husband.” Her action was also carried out by the employees of a beauty salon in order to increase the number of salon clients and subscribers to her channel.
