Floodwaters enter homes in Jizzakh region after heavy rain (video)

On February 14, floodwaters entered multiple homes in the Forish district of the Jizzakh region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the ministry, heavy short-term rainfall at 04:53 led to mudflow runoff passing through the Qizilqum neighborhood in the district.

Preliminary information indicates that mudflow waters entered the yards and household plots of about 30 homes on Erali Street in Qizilqum village.

All necessary equipment and emergency response teams have been deployed to deal with the consequences. No fatalities or injuries have been reported.

The situation is fully under the control of the regional emergency department.

In addition, lightning struck a road passing through the Yangiqishloq settlement of the district at 22:05 on February 13. No damage or casualties were reported in that incident.

According to Uzhydromet, hail measuring 0.7 mm in diameter fell between 21:04 and 21:07 on February 13 at the Yangiqishloq weather station in Forish district.

Earlier, mudflows had also been reported in the Sharof Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region.
