The President of South Korea visits Uzbekistan

10449From June 10-15, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yol will embark on a state visit to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Kim Tae-hyo, a member of the South Korean leader's administration, shared this information with journalists.
"Central Asia played a crucial role in the ancient Silk Road, serving as a strategic link between Europe and Asia," stated Kim Tae-hyo, the first deputy director of the National Security Bureau.
He noted that the significance of the region is growing amid various crises, such as the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. President Yoon will be accompanied by his wife.
In May, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky invited Yoon Seok-yol to attend an international conference in Switzerland on June 15-16. On June 3, South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the invitation was still under consideration.
