7186Jamshid Anvarovich Kochkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been awarded the honorary title of "Honored Economist of the Republic of Uzbekistan." This announcement was made by Sherzod Asadov, the press secretary of the President.
According to Asadov, this title was conferred upon the minister by presidential decree in recognition of his years of effective service in state agencies, his efforts to strengthen the country's independence and economic power, and his role in developing the financial system to meet international standards. The award acknowledges his significant contributions to the successful implementation of important programs and investment projects, as well as his commitment to enhancing the well-being of the Uzbek people and training qualified personnel in the field.
For context, Jamshid Kochkarov was born on October 19, 1964, in the Kattakorgan district of the Samarkand region. He was appointed as the Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Alleviation on January 24, 2020. Before that, from 2017 to 2020, he served as Deputy Prime Minister for macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, focusing on reforms in the financial and banking sectors, as well as promoting private entrepreneurship and small business development. He also led the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that on August 3, 2023, it was reported that Jamshid Kochkarov was confirmed in his current role as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
