The Senate will consider the law on land acquisition for public use

The 26th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held on 28 May.  This decision was made at a meeting of the Senate Council.

Several issues are planned to be addressed in the plenary meeting which will be held via video-conference.  The laws “On the State Civil Service”, “On the Regulations of land acquisition for public use in exchange for compensation”, “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the system of ensuring equality and transparency in land relations, reliable protection of land rights and their transformation into market assets”, and “On Amendments and additions to Article 19 of the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" On Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances " are among them.

In particular, the senators will also consider the the outcomes of the parliamentary request to the Cabinet of Ministers on the work carried out in the Republic of Karakalpakstan on the use of solar and wind energy in the economy sector, social facilities, and housing.

In addition, the results of the parliamentary request to the Cabinet of Ministers on the development of national content for youth and minors on the global information network of internet, the culture of using social networks by the youth, and protection from malicious information will also be discussed.

Furthermore, it is also planned to consider the results of a parliamentary request to the Cabinet of Ministers on the state of protection of women’s labor rights in the light and leather industries.

The plenary session is also scheduled to review the report on the activities of the Senate Committee on Development and Ecology of the Aral Sea Region in 2021 and the first quarter of 2022.
