20487In response to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova's comments regarding a recent incident at a school in Tashkent, Otabek Hasanov, head of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, voiced strong opposition to external interference in Uzbekistan's internal matters.
"The actions of the teacher towards the student have sparked significant discussion on social media. While the teacher’s behavior is inexcusable and violates the rights of the child—values that are central to our society—it's unjust to judge over 100,000 dedicated educators based on the actions of one individual," Hasanov stated.
He emphasized that the rights of children are protected by various organizations, and appropriate measures are being taken against the teacher involved.
Hasanov criticized those attempting to exacerbate the situation and incite national conflicts, highlighting the ideological dangers present in today's era. He reaffirmed Uzbekistan's status as an independent, legal-democratic, and secular state, noting that the law safeguards all citizens regardless of age, nationality, religion, or profession. Those who infringe upon these rights will face consequences.
"Significant issues in our country are addressed collaboratively with our people. This incident is a matter for us to resolve internally; external interference is unnecessary," Hasanov asserted.
He further stressed the importance of unity among Uzbekistan's diverse population of over 130 nationalities and urged intellectuals to guide society positively with their insights and perspectives.
This statement follows earlier remarks from Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Alisher Kadyrov, who also reacted to Zakharova’s comments, as well as a response from Sherzodkhan Kudratkhuja, rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, who rejected any outside meddling in Uzbekistan's affairs.
