In the Agroxizmatlar Center of the Yukori Chirchik district in the Tashkent region, plans are underway to implement seed and seedling production based on Chinese experience. This announcement was made during a presentation on the development of international cooperation in agriculture led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 3.

According to the report, an investment of $200 million will be allocated for this initiative, focusing on increasing the varieties of cotton, wheat, rice, corn, grapes, and fruits. A model area will be established for obtaining seeds, planting them using modern technology and drones, treating, harvesting, and processing them.

Another crucial issue for the sector is the need for qualified personnel. Italy offers an excellent education system in this regard. The University of Bologna alone plays a significant role in supplying Europe with skilled specialists. Scientific institutes collaborate with the private sector to create and commercialize high-quality varieties based on orders.

To study these experiences, it is planned to send 200 young people to the universities of Bologna, Tuscia, Ferrara, and Pisa in Italy this year. Additionally, Tuscia University has proposed granting 30 scholarships annually to train food technologists and establish a system for training personnel in Uzbekistan.

Programs for studying and working abroad are also beneficial for learning from global experiences. For example, last year, the Samarkand Agricultural Institute and the International Agriculture University sent a group of students to Germany and England. Japanese language centers are being established at the Tashkent State Agrarian University, the International Agriculture University, and the Fergana Food Institute to send students to Japan.

The plans were supported during the presentation, with an emphasis on expanding such cooperation with agri-industrially developed countries like Hungary, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, and South Korea. The Ministry of Agriculture has been tasked with developing a program to increase innovative projects in the regions.
