A violent confrontation involving a group of women and a traffic patrol officer took place on May 1 in Denov district, Surkhandarya region. The Road Traffic Safety Service has provided additional information regarding the incident.

The altercation occurred when RTS officers Safdar Hayitmurodov and Safdar Yuldoshov stopped a Lacetti vehicle that was driving erratically and blocking the flow of traffic at the intersection of O‘zbekiston and Mustaqillik streets. The officers explained the violation to the driver and asked him to present the necessary documents. Instead of complying, the driver refused to hand over his papers and resisted the officers in a public setting.

Following the refusal, Hayitmurodov prepared to have the vehicle towed to a penalty lot. At this point, the driver called his wife, father-in-law, sister-in-law, and other relatives, who then arrived and physically attacked Officer Yuldoshov by grabbing his neck and damaging his body camera.

Authorities responded immediately. The Denov district prosecutor's office and the local police department launched an investigation on the same day. The suspects were detained under procedural law, and pretrial detention measures were applied.

Following their arrest, some of the involved women expressed remorse, stating:

"We let our emotions get the better of us and grabbed, insulted, and tore the officer’s uniform. I deeply regret my actions and ask for forgiveness from the people."

A criminal case was initiated under Article 277 of the Criminal Code (Hooliganism), and all individuals involved were placed in custody. Additionally, those who filmed and spread misleading footage online with the intention of discrediting law enforcement may also face administrative charges under Article 195-2 of the Administrative Code.

Previously, in Navoi region, a traffic violator insulted officers while they were carrying out their duties. The case was heard in Karmana district court, where the individual was found guilty of minor hooliganism and refusing lawful orders and sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention.
